Manufacturing

AI automation for plastics processing.

Injection moulding, extrusion, thermoforming, every order brings new tools, new materials, new quality requirements. We automate costing, quality reports and complaint analysis, integrated into your existing MES and ERP landscape.

The bottleneck in plastics processing: tools, batches, reports.

Six recurring time sinks that every mid-sized plastics processor knows.

Injection-moulding costing

Recalculating tooling costs, cycle times and material consumption for every enquiry, across the tool master, granulate price list and machine park. Days per RFQ before a quote goes out.

Costing proposal in hours

Quality reports from CAQ

Measurement data from the CAQ system is transferred by hand into inspection reports, limits are compared, deviations are commented on. Every batch a new document.

Inspection report generated automatically from CAQ data

Tool maintenance & master data

Maintenance history, tool service lives and repair records sit in paper folders, Outlook inboxes and Excel lists. Who last did what?

Tool dossier at the push of a button

Material requirements planning

Granulate stock caught between tied-up capital and supply shortfalls. JIT delivery to OEM customers, but a fluctuating order book. Purchasing plans on gut feeling.

Data-driven granulate forecast

Complaint clusters

Individual complaints get handled, but the pattern stays invisible: is it the batch? The tool? The drying process? Systematic causes remain hidden.

Pattern detection across batches and tools

Series-enquiry analysis

OEM customers send bill-of-quantity files with hundreds of line items in changing formats. Every enquiry is matched by hand against the tool master before any costing can even begin.

BoQ parsing and matching against the tool master

What we automate in plastics processing, concretely.

Costing assistant for injection moulding

Incoming RFQ PDFs are read, part geometry and material specifications extracted. The AI matches against your tool master, estimates cycle time and material consumption, and creates a costing proposal for approval.

Quality-report generator

Measurement data from the CAQ system is read out in a structured way, tolerances compared, deviations commented on. The result is a customer-ready inspection report in your corporate design, per batch in minutes.

Tool-maintenance records

Repairs, overhauls and preventive maintenance are captured in a structured way. The AI aggregates service lives, forecasts maintenance dates and delivers a tool dossier on demand.

Complaint pattern detection

Complaint data is correlated with production parameters, machine data and material batches. Systematic causes (e.g. a specific granulate batch on a particular tool) become visible.

Material requirements forecast

Order history, call-off schedule and granulate lead times feed into a rolling forecast. Purchasing sees critical materials with lead time, less air freight, less downtime.

Multilingual technical documentation

Material data sheets, product specifications and inspection instructions are translated into export languages, using your company's own plastics terminology.

Customer correspondence on batch enquiries

Queries about batches, delivery dates or specifications are pre-answered with data from ERP and CAQ. Your specialist reviews and sends, turning minutes of research into seconds.

A typical case from plastics processing.

Plastics supplier, 80 employees

A technical injection-moulding supplier for automotive and medical-technology customers. Before the project: injection-moulding costings took an average of 3 working days per RFQ, across tool assessment, granulate costing and cycle-time estimation. At 25 enquiries per month, the sales team was effectively blocked.

After the rollout: the AI reads incoming RFQ PDFs, matches part geometry and material specifications against the tool master, estimates cycle time from similar projects and creates a costing proposal. Sales reviews and sends, on average 4 hours instead of 3 days per enquiry.

Consulting

We analyse your costing, quality and complaint processes, together with tool-making, production and sales. The result: a prioritised list of concrete levers.

Development

We build the solution to fit your MES, CAQ and ERP. Interfaces to the tool master and machine data are standard. Pilot in weeks, not months.

Operations

After go-live we stay on board. Monitoring, adjustments for new tools or materials, training for your team.

How a project runs with us.

01

Process analysis

Two days on site with tool-making, production and quality. A clear list of the biggest levers.

02

Pilot project

One concrete use case (e.g. injection-moulding costing) live in 4-6 weeks.

03

Integration

Connection to MES, CAQ, ERP and the tool master, no parallel worlds.

04

Scaling

Roll out further use cases from your priority list.

Questions from plastics processing.

Through standard interfaces such as OPC UA, REST APIs or a direct database connection, depending on what your MES vendor offers. We work with HYDRA, WERUM PAS-X, iTAC and custom solutions. No parallel systems, no duplicate data storage.
Yes. The AI extrapolates from similar tools in your master data, combined with current material prices and realistic cycle-time estimates based on part geometry. The result is a proposal that your sales team verifies and adjusts. Where there is uncertainty, the AI flags what needs to be checked manually.
Complaints are correlated with production data, machine parameters (pressure, temperature, cycle time) and material batches. The AI finds systematic causes, for example a specific granulate batch on a particular tool under certain process conditions. Individual cases become patterns.
Your CAQ data stays in your CAQ system. The AI reads it in a structured way via an interface, creates inspection reports in your preferred format and corporate design, but writes nothing back that has not been approved beforehand. Audit readiness is preserved.
Typically 4-6 weeks for the first use case, for example the costing assistant or the quality-report generator. The prerequisite is that the relevant systems (MES, CAQ, ERP) are reachable via an interface. We define the exact roadmap in the initial conversation.
