Manufacturing

AI automation for machining, welding technology and sheet metal work.

Custom lot sizes, changing materials, material certificates for every batch. We automate costing, welding documentation and quality reports, integrated into your CAM and ERP world.

The bottleneck in metalworking: drawing, certificate, proof.

Six recurring time sinks that every contract manufacturer and steel fabricator knows.

CNC machining costing

Material purchasing, tooling costs, primary and secondary processing times, manually per drawing. The estimator jumps between the drawing, material suppliers and tool management. Hours before a quote is ready.

Costing from a drawing in minutes

Welding documentation (WPQR)

For every weld per DIN EN 1090 or ISO 3834 a WPQR, per component a welding sequence, per order a documentation folder. The welding supervisor writes up in the evening what was produced during the day.

WPQR documents pre-generated automatically

Material certificates 3.1/3.2

Certificates arrive as PDFs from the supplier, have to be captured in structured form, linked to the batch and later passed on to the end customer. A permanent construction site in goods receipt.

Automatic certificate extraction

Setup time costing

The smaller the series, the larger the setup share. Setup times are estimated as flat rates because a detailed analysis per enquiry is too much effort. Costing becomes imprecise, margins fluctuate.

Setup time suggestion from history

Quality reports and FAI

First article inspections (FAI) and ongoing quality reports are compiled by hand from the measurement protocols of 3D measuring machines. 30-60 minutes per component.

FAI from measurement data in minutes

Tender parsing

Bills of quantities for steel construction, pipeline construction or custom assemblies arrive with hundreds of line items. Evaluating them and matching against your own manufacturing portfolio takes days.

BoQ analysis and matching in hours

What we automate in metalworking, in concrete terms.

Machining costing from drawings

From PDF or STEP drawings, the AI extracts geometry, material and tolerances, estimates primary and secondary times based on your machine data and tool library, and produces a costing proposal for approval.

WPQR documentation automatically

Welding procedure specifications (WPS) are pre-generated based on the weld joint, the material and the filler materials. The welding supervisor reviews and signs off, instead of writing every document by hand.

Generate material certificates

Incoming supplier certificates are captured in structured form and linked to batch and order. On the outgoing side, the AI creates customer-specific 3.1 certificates in your corporate design, ready to ship.

FAI reports from measurement data

Measurement protocols from Zeiss, Mitutoyo or Hexagon are automatically compared against drawing tolerances. The FAI report is generated as a structured PDF including deviation comments, ready for inspection.

Complaint analysis

Complaints are correlated by material batch, manufacturing process (machining, welding, surface) and machine. Systematic root causes become visible before they turn into a serial defect.

Setup time optimisation

Historical manufacturing data provides realistic setup times per component family and machine. The AI suggests optimised order sequences that group setup times together.

Customer emails about delivery dates

Delivery date enquiries are pre-answered from ERP and MES: current production status, planned dispatch, and where relevant certificate status. A specialist reviews and sends.

A typical case from metalworking.

Contract metalworking shop, 55 employees

A machining and welding operation working as a contract manufacturer for machine builders and plant engineers. Before the project: CNC costing 4-6 hours per drawing set, welding documentation 30-60 minutes per component. The two estimators were fully occupied with RFQ processing, and new enquiries were piling up.

After the rollout: the AI reads drawings, matches them against master data from CAM and ERP, and delivers a costing proposal including a material price request to preferred suppliers. Welding documentation (WPQR, welding sequence plan) is generated automatically per component, and the welding supervisor approves it.

Consulting

We analyse your costing, manufacturing and documentation processes, with work planning, welding supervision and quality. The result: a prioritised list of concrete levers.

Development

We build the solution to fit your ERP, CAM and measuring system. A pilot in weeks, not months. Compliant with EN 1090, ISO 3834, ISO 9001.

Operations

After go-live we stay on board. Monitoring, adjustments for new materials or welding procedures, training for your team.

How a project works with us.

01

Process analysis

Two days on site with work planning, welding supervision and quality. A clear list of the biggest levers.

02

Pilot project

One specific use case (e.g. a machining calculator) live in 4-6 weeks.

03

Integration

Connection to ERP, CAM and measuring machines, no parallel worlds.

04

Scaling

Roll out further use cases from your priority list.

Questions from metalworking.

Yes. From PDF drawings, STEP models and text specifications, the AI extracts dimensions, tolerances, surfaces and material data. Where anything is unclear (a poorly scanned drawing, an unusual standard), the work-planning specialist is explicitly brought in to clarify. Nothing is guessed.
Supplier certificates (3.1/3.2 per EN 10204) are extracted in structured form, material, heat number, analysis, supplier, and linked to batch and order. On the outgoing side we generate customer-specific certificates including full traceability.
No. The AI produces formally correct WPS/WPQR drafts based on your welding procedures, materials and welding positions. The content remains the responsibility of your welding supervisor (SFI/IWE). Approval is fully traceable and auditable.
Yes, with all SAP variants, Business One, ECC, S/4HANA. The connection is made via the respective documented standard interfaces (DI-API, OData, RFC). We also have experience with abas, proALPHA and other mid-market ERPs.
A pilot for a specific use case (e.g. machining calculator or WPQR generator) ranges, depending on scope, between 5,000 and 15,000 €, and the upfront AI potential analysis (2,500 €) is credited in full. We give you the exact range in the first conversation, once we understand your system landscape and scope.
